‘Superman’ Crewmember Dies of Apparent Suicide Near Atlanta Set 5

A crewmember working on Warner Bros.’ Superman movie shoot at Trilith Studios near Atlanta died on Wednesday after an apparent suicide attempt, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department and paramedics were called to the film studio complex early Wednesday morning and discovered a deceased female Teamster member in her car, the victim of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.

Fayetteville Police officer Austin Dunn in an email statement said his department was called at around 6:47 a.m. to the Trilith Studios on Sandy Creek Road after a report of an “unconscious adult contractor” being spotted in a vehicle on the studio lot.

“Arriving officers and medical personnel found the patient deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Evidence collected revealed no suspicion of foul play, nor is the investigation connected to any ongoing studio projects,” the statement added.

Representatives of DC Comics at Warner Bros. could not be reached for direct comment.

The tragic crew member death took place on the Trilith Studios lot in Fayetteville as production on Superman is taking place near where the second season of John Cena’s Peacemaker superhero series, a DC Studios project, is also before the cameras.

The latest Superman film, which stars David Corenswet in the title role and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, has been close to wrapping production, according to an update earlier this month. Superman began production in February and marks the first feature under James Gunn and Peter Safran’s reign over DC Studios.

The film, which will be the first project solely focused on the Man of Steel to hit the big screen in over a decade, follows the iconic superhero as he reconciles his alien heritage with his human upbringing, according to the description.
