Fox is getting an early start — very early, in fact — on the future of its animated series Krapopolis.
The network has ordered a fourth season of the show from creator Dan Harmon, which is set in a mythical version of ancient Greece where humans, gods and monsters intermingle. The early renewal is nothing new for Krapopolis, which by the time it premiered in September 2023 had already been picked up for three seasons. With the long production cycle for animated shows, ordering seasons well in advance can ensure an uninterrupted flow of episodes.
News of the renewal was announced late Thursday at Comic-Con in San Diego. The show’s second season is set to premiere in September.
“For all our Krap-devotees, there was no better place to decree another season of Krapopolis than the annual San Diego Comic-Con fan fest and no one better to deliver the proclamation than our brilliant creator and executive producer, Dan Harmon,” said Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn in a statement. “Dan and his team have created something special with this series, and now that Season Four is etched in stone, we’ll be keeping those once-in-a-millennia laughs rolling.”
Hannah Waddingham, Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry, Pam Murphy and Duncan Trussell lead the show’s voice cast. Waddingham earned an Emmy nomination for best voice-over performance earlier this month for her work on the series.
Krapopolis grew out of Harmon’s direct animation deal with the broadcast network. Fox’s Bento Box Entertainment produces the series, with Harmon, Steve Levy and showrunner Alex Rubens executive producing.
