Jenna Bush Hager is continuing to dish about her marriage on Today. This morning, the co-host shared a stressful time she had to “harbor a secret” from her husband.
“Once when I was working here and I was racing to a shoot to fly somewhere. I had a bag of jewelry and, weirdly, I had everything in it,” Bush Hager told Hoda Kotb. She added that her engagement ring was also in the bag. “I don’t have much nice jewelry, but everything I had was in there.”
“I was stressed. I get to the shoot and I’m looking around, I’m like, ‘Oh no, I had a whole bag of jewelry,’” she recalled. She said that she then reached out to a member of their security team at Today. “So I called Jack here, who’s an angel. I said, ‘Jack, I just took off at JFK. I know it’s gone, but can you just see what the airport says?’”
She added, “I couldn’t even tell Henry because if I lost our engagement ring, it’s priceless. So, I harbored a secret from Henry, too, which was hard.”
Luckily, the story has a happy ending.
“Some lovely man who I’ve never met returned it to security,” she said, noting that he returned the ring to security even though it could have made him “late to his flight.”
Kotb certainly knew what that felt like.
“I lose lots of things. Glasses phones, keys – all the time,” she said. “It’s nothing new… They seem to come back.”
The co-hosts also spoke about a recent report that showed what kinds of objects were most often left behind in Ubers. Amongst the most bizarre objects were a pet turtle, a toupee, and a paternity test.
“That sounds like a Maury Povich show,” Bush Hager joked.
