Conor Leslie, who played Donna Troy on DC show Titans, is starring in Archangel, a horror thriller from comic book and screenwriter Bryan Edward Hill.

Hill, who was a writer and supervising producer on Titans, is making his directorial debut with the movie, which has now wrapped after shooting under the radar. It will be unveiled at next week’s San Diego Comic-Con, with Hill and Leslie in attendance.

Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Abu Dhabi are behind the feature, and suggests the emergence of a new horror powerhouse. Their two previous productions included Watcher, the thriller directed by Chloe Okuno that starred Maika Monroe, and the microbudget Late Night with the Devil, the horror hit which became IFC Films’ highest-grossing opening weekend ever and topped $10 million domestically.

Archangel centers on a privately funded organization researching the possibility of life after death. It is targeted by an ancient entity that wants to keep mankind from understanding the true nature of the supernatural.

Concurrently, Hill is developing and writing a graphic novel with a story set within the world of Archangel. The graphic novel is currently being shopped to publishers.

The movie’s cast also includes Greg Hovanessian (Cardinal), and Alyshia Ochse (True Detective), Azure Parsons (The Astronauts Wives Club)and Trevor Riley (Animal Kingdom).

It was produced by Spooky Pictures’ Roy Lee (Barbarian) and Steven Schneider (Insidious), Image Nation’s Derek Dauchy (Late Night with the Devil), and Kevlar Creative’s Julius Pryor and Hill. Executive producers include Ben Ross and Rami Yasin.

A first-look at Archangel will be held at a panel at Comic-Con, with Schneider joining Hill as well as Leslie, whose credits also includes a stint on The Man in the High Castle. Artwork from the graphic novel will also be shown.

The panel is titled Image Nation and Spooky Pictures Presents: Murder in the Next Row – The Future of Horror Unveiled, and will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM in room 9 of the San Diego Convention Center.
