Yellowstone might not be ready to ride off into the sunset just yet.
Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser — who play the married fan favorites Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler on the show — are in talks to star in sixth season of the Paramount Network hit.
This is different than the Yellowstone sequel series, The Madison, which is in the works for Paramount+. Reilly and Hauser have also previously been rumored to star in The Madison, but that Yellowstone universe series will instead star Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Fox. The show is described as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”
The Yellowstone news was first reported by Puck, and Paramount Network did not comment.
Yellowstone fans have been waiting a long time for the second half of the fifth season, which is currently in production in Montana, and without series lead Kevin Costner, who stepped away from the show to focus on his Horizon film saga.
When Yellowstone aired its midseason finale back in January 2023, the future was looking ominous for the Dutton family on the fifth season of the Paramount Network mega-hit series. Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) had just thrown down the gauntlet against his sister Beth Dutton and father John Dutton (Costner) in a move that would usher in an all-out war between the embittered family members.
The series from co-creators Taylor Sheridan and John Linson will return on Sunday, Nov. 10
