Sydney Sweeney Says She’s Excited for ‘Euphoria’ Return 5

Sydney Sweeney is “very excited” to head back to Euphoria, the actress said this week.

“I’m very excited to jump back into Cassie,” the Anyone But You star told People. “She is definitely one of the most special characters for me and I love my Euphoria family, so I look forward to it.”

Sweeney said she can’t share anything about the hotly awaited (and debated) season three of HBO’s show because “honestly, I don’t know anything about it,” but that she always enjoys exploring the darker side of her notoriously chaotic character.

“I love crazy Cassie, so the crazier, the better for me,” she said.

Previously, Sweeney opened up about preparing to return to the show three years after the team filmed season two.

“We did have a long time between season one and season two, but especially now with the time jump, it’s a new process for me,” she said. “I’m kind of just learning as I go and being open for whatever’s to come. But I’m also really excited. I love Cassie. She is always such a thrilling character to play, so I’m really looking forward to what’s gonna happen in her life.”

Nevertheless, she added, returning to work with Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer and more will always be special.

“They were the crew and the cast that were there at the beginning of my career,” Sweeney said. “We all came up from different places but came together and were navigating so much at the same time, so it’s really nice having that core group. They’re experiencing a similarity to what I’m going through. It’s nice to have that community.”

Sweeney and other cast members have stayed mum about Euphoria season three, with the Madame Web star once saying in March that talking about the show feels “as scary as talking about Marvel.”

Also in March, HBO announced that filming on season three had been delayed indefinitely and the cast was welcome to “pursue other opportunities.” In July, the network announced a production date for early next year.
