Steve Zahn is joining Apple TV+‘s sci-fi series Silo for season two.
The show’s team announced the news during its panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday. Zahn made a surprise appearance at the SDCC event alongside star and executive producer Rebecca Ferguson, star Common, creator and showrunner Graham Yost and executive producer Hugh Howey.
Also announced during the panel was the season two premiere date of Nov. 15. The 10-episode second season will launch with the first episode on Apple TV+, and the show will see one episode launch weekly on the streamer every Friday through Jan. 17, 2025.
The cast for the second season includes Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McCrae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie and Iain Glen.
Silo is based on Howey’s novel series and focuses on the final 10,000 denizens of Earth as they attempt to stay safe in the titular mile-deep home underneath the toxic world above them. The reason for the silo’s existence is unknown, and those who try to learn more about it find themselves facing deadly consequences.
Hailing from Apple Studios, the show’s executive producers include Yost, Ferguson, Howey, Michael Dinner, Nina Jack, Joanna Thapa, Morten Tyldum, Fred Golan, Rémi Aubuchon and AMC Studios.
Zahn appeared on the first season of The White Lotus, which earned the actor an Emmy nomination. His other recent television credits include George & Tammy and The Righteous Gemstones.
Silo’s first season is currently streaming on Apple TV+.
