Letitia Wright is teasing the possibility of returning to her role as Shuri from the Black Panther films.

“Let’s just say … I would like to continue with Shuri,” Wright said during a Wednesday appearance on The View when asked about her appearing in future Avengers movies The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, set for May 2026 and May 2027, respectively. “She’s one of my favorite characters. Such a blessing, honestly. I kid you not, I’m so grateful for her.”

When co-host Sunny Hostin pressed Wright about a potential Black Panther 3, the actress and executive producer coyly responded, “There’s a lot to, a lot to — a lot coming up.”

While a threequel to the Oscar-winning franchise hasn’t officially been greenlit at this point, the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sets up a story nicely. The final moments of the film introduced — spoiler alert! — Prince T’Challa (Divine Love Konadu-Sun), son of King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o). A black card was also featured at the end of the sequel and noted: “Black Panther will return.”

Elsewhere in the conversation on The View, Wright explained that she felt the impact Black Panther was having on the world as soon as the press tour began for the original 2018 film, and it continued up until the second installment. In an anecdote, she shared that she was in Peru one day and a woman approached her, began crying and said that Wakanda Forever helped her process her brother’s death.

Wright also opened up about how Boseman’s words helped her get through her on-set injury in the midst of filming Black Panther 2.

“At the time it was an unfortunate accident that happened to me, and I kind of just had a moment to just reflect on everything, and I just thought a lot about him,” she said on the daytime talk show. “I thought a lot about his perseverance and his relentlessness just to keep going no matter what life was throwing at him, and I just thought, like, ‘If my brother could make it, you know, I can get back on set and finish the job,’ So, I just carried that panther spirit with me.”
