Paddington and Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville, Michael Socha and Ella Bruccoleri (Bridgerton) have grabbed the lead roles in the crime comedy Go Away!
The indie, written and directed by Ed Kear and Cringo Williamson through their production banner Rude Guests, has started production in Heltfordshire, U.K. Steve Speirs, Jo Martin, Niky Wardley, Jeff Mirza and Chris Gascoyne round out the ensemble cast.
Go Away! follows the deadbeat lodger Kyle Burden, played by Socha, as his life is turned upside down when an accident with a bailiff on the same day his landlord has viewings with potential home buyers threatens to derail his pot-growing business.
“We had a fantastic time developing this project and are incredibly excited to see it come to life with such a fantastic cast and crew. We look forward to delivering a film that’s funny and poignant in equal measure, which we hope will live long in the memory of its audience,” Kear and Williamson said in a joint statement.
The film is produced by Gina Lyons (Dinner With the Parents) for Gobby Girl Productions, and Kristyna Sellnerova (Duchess) for Go Away Film. The executive producer credits are shared by Ram Getz and Michael Mortensen through their GM Management banner, Lyndon Baldock from Templeheart Films, and Mark Sandell, Vik Bansal, Harvey Dean, Tarek Anthony Jabre and Melora Donoghue and Randy Wooten for Low Road Films.
