Usher is coming to a theater near you.
Following the footsteps of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, the R&B star’s concert film — dubbed USHER: RENDEZVOUS IN PARIS — will hit global theaters from Sept. 12-15. AMC Theatres Distribution, Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision have partnered for the film, which was taped during Usher’s eight-concert performance in Paris at La Seine Musicale last year.
“Paris was a special experience for me as an entertainer and for my fans,” Usher says in a statement. “I hope those who weren’t able to make it in person get to experience how special it was. As for those of you who were, I hope you experience the show and see what it takes to get there through a different lens.”
Tickets go on sale August 6 at UsherinParis.com, and it will screen in 2,000 cinemas worldwide. The film will feature Usher singing hits like “My Boo,” “Love In This Club” and “Yeah!” It also will include a look at Usher’s life beyond the stage.
Usher recently scored an Emmy nomination for his Super Bowl halftime show performance. He has won eight Grammy Awards and launched nine No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
USHER: RENDEZVOUS IN PARIS is directed by Grammy-nominated filmmaker Anthony Mandler, who has also worked with Swift, Beyoncé, Rihanna and the Killers. It is a production of Arcovision, Kingdom Films and Laffitte Group Productions. The film is produced by Mandler, Usher and Ron Laffitte. Executive producers for Kingdom Films are Aakomon Jones and Angelo Gopee; executive producer for Arcovision is Kwesi Collisson; and executive producers for Sony Music are Tom Mackay, Richard Story and Krista Wegener.
